Important Information

• First day of school:

Preschool students will be notified of their orientation appointments by mail. Regular bus transportation for grades 1-8 will begin on the first day of school. All students must be in school no later than 8:00 a.m. All boys and girls of grades 6, 7 and 8 must be in the Shul no later than 7:50 a.m. During the remainder of the school year, 6, 7, and 8 grade boys must be in Shul no later than 7:30 a.m.

• Bus Stops:

Bus stop information for New York City students will be sent out approximately two weeks before the first day of school. Please make certain the correct stop is listed. If it is incorrect, please call Mrs. Czegledi, our Transportation Coordinator, at extension 30 immediately, so that she can update our computer listing. Long Island students must contact their local school district for bussing information.

• Peanut Free:

YCQ is a peanut free school. We do not serve peanuts/peanut butter as part of our hot lunch program. This situation is potentially dangerous. Do not send peanut or peanut butter products to be shared with other students as snacks or party treats. Peanut butter sandwiches are not to be brought to school.

• Friday Dismissal:

Dismissal takes place at 1:30 p.m. throughout the school. Children in grades 5 – 8 must be aware of bus changes on Fridays.

• The 4:30 Room:

In order to accommodate the needs of working parents, YCQ is providing an after-school supervised room for those children who are dismissed at 3:45 and remain in school until 4:30 P.M. Any child who is dismissed at 3:45 and stays at school must remain in this room. The charge for the program will be $400.00 for the entire school year and will begin the first day of school. Checks made out to YCQ should be sent in a separate envelope to Rabbi Kovitz in the Business office. The room will be known as “the 4:30 room.”

• Late Dismissal:

All after school activities have clearly defined times during which they meet, by the day and by the hour. We ask your cooperation so that you are aware of the times that your child is staying after regular school hours. You and your child should be aware of what time they are dismissed, how they are to go home that day and who will pick them up at the bus stop.
